If you’re not seen on social media, you don’t exist. That isn’t a slogan. It’s how your customers behave now: they spend more than two hours a day in the feed, they get their news there, and they decide where to eat, who to hire and what to buy there. If your business isn’t showing up every week, someone else’s is.
Your customers are there every day, and not just the young ones
Pew Research Center’s 2025 survey of U.S. adults found that 84% use YouTube and 71% use Facebook. Half use Instagram and 37% use TikTok. About half of all adults visit Facebook and YouTube at least once a day, and 37% are on Facebook several times a day.
The “it’s just kids” idea is a decade out of date. Facebook’s heaviest daily users are 30 to 64: 58% of adults 30 to 49 and 54% of adults 50 to 64 are on it every day. The homeowner who needs an AC company, the couple booking an anniversary dinner and the person who just got into an accident are all scrolling tonight.
Social took the hours TV and radio used to own
eMarketer’s 2026 forecast has U.S. adults who use social networks spending more than two hours a day on them, before counting YouTube, with TikTok users alone averaging 47 minutes. Those hours came from somewhere. Time with traditional TV has fallen to 2 hours and 14 minutes a day, and 2026 is the last year it will be the top media activity in the country.
It isn’t only entertainment. One in five U.S. adults now regularly gets news on TikTok, up from 3% in 2020, and more than half of TikTok’s users do. When people get their information from the feed, they get their recommendations there too.
If you’re not constantly creating content, you’re not seen
The feed resets every day. A post from last month is gone. The platforms reward accounts that publish often, in the formats people are watching now, and they bury the rest. One post a month is the same as no posts at all.
This is the awareness problem in a new place. Most of your market isn’t buying today; when they are, they pick the name they already know. Showing up in the feed week after week is how a local business becomes that name, in the hours your customers are actually paying attention.
The free reach you’re leaving on the table
Content creation is the best value in marketing because good content earns reach you don’t pay for. For our clients, we generate between 250,000 and 500,000 organic impressions every month inside their local community. At the $15 per thousand we negotiated for one client’s media buy, 300,000 impressions would cost about $4,500 a month to purchase. The organic version costs you the content.
Then we put the same content to work in paid ads, targeted by ZIP code, interest and behavior, so the posts that stop the scroll reach the people most likely to call. One restaurant client saw 6,685 website users in a single campaign month; when the ads stopped, monthly users fell 98%. The numbers are here.
Why a team, not a phone and good intentions
- Consistency. Shoot days on a calendar, a month of posts planned in advance, published on schedule whether or not you had a busy week. The feed doesn’t care that you were busy.
- Trends that stop the scroll. Formats, hooks and sounds change weekly. We watch what’s working on Reels, Shorts and TikTok and shape your content to it, so people stop at your post instead of swiping past it.
- Real production. Your food, your crew, your showroom, your work, shot by a team that has produced video for more than 20 years. Real beats stock every time.
- Ads that extend the winners. We put budget behind the posts that perform and target them to your neighborhood, so organic reach and paid reach compound.
- Numbers that matter. Likes are not the goal. We report inquiries, calls, bookings, website visits and foot traffic against the content calendar.
- Your time back. You run the business. We run the feed.
What we do at Sunray
